Association’s position of 28.02.2022

Position of the Civic Association “DOM POLSKI” on military operations in Ukraine. We, the people of social diplomacy, strongly condemn the aggressive policy of the Russian Federation’s state authorities towards Ukraine. An unprovoked attack on a sovereign country, a member of the United Nations, by the Russian Federation, which is after all a Permanent Member of the United Nations Security Council, undermines trust in the norms of international law, international agreements
and guarantees provided, including by the Russian Federation, which has become a war aggressor.

We strongly condemn the criminal actions against the defenseless civilian population of Ukraine, which have caused the largest humanitarian crisis in Europe since the end of World War II. We call on the authorities of the Russian Federation to immediately cease military operations, threats to use weapons of mass destruction and the increasing casualties on both sides of the conflict. We call for a decision to immediately withdraw Russian troops from the territory of Ukraine, and for the Belarusian authorities not to provide support in this war, thereby becoming an accomplice in this aggression.

We believe that only peaceful ways of resolving conflicts can build mutual and internationally recognized trust, as well as conditions for the development of all humanity. Given the global challenges for all humanity, we believe that the citizens of the Russian Federation and Belarus also hope for peaceful development, and not participation in aggressive policies towards their neighbors.

We express our support for the international community, which supports the right of the Ukrainian people to live in a free, independent and secure state, opposing violations of the international order.
